ERP Should Be Able To Integrate With Other Systems

In any business, there are many different systems and processes that help in managing and running of an organization. To perform the back-end functions that support in driving the business is ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning. But for reaping the full benefit of the ERP it is important that an organization integrates the ERP system with the rest of the IT and other systems that run a business/organization.

To meet that requirement ERP software has been designed bearing in mind that it would simply and centralize the certain features of the business processes.  That primarily entails purchasing, management of the inventory, and customer relationship management (CRM). ERP ensures that these can be paired with other modules and system of the business so it can facilitate the human capital management and finance for example. Basically, ERP aids companies to administer critical factors of the business from a single application while providing scalability.
For the purpose of running an efficient business, it is important that one understands the purpose of ERP so that it can be fully deployed on different sections of the business. Also, it will help in designing the ERP system integration specifically for the concerned business.

Hence it is important to understand what ERP is and why it should be integrated with other systems. Also, which systems can be integrated with ERP?

What is ERP?
ERP stands for Enterprise resource planning (ERP). It is a business process management software system that enables organizations to use the system of this integrated application so that the business can manage the back-end office functions in an automated way. The functions that are often managed by ERP are related to human resources, services, and technology.

ERP software is thought of as a type of enterprise application. That is the ERP software that is designed for large businesses often has dedicated teams that customize and analyse the data of the business so that the required steps can be taken for better deployment.

Why Should I Integrate ERM with other systems?
Nowadays most businesses are incorporating the ERM system in their businesses.  However, the need to integrate it with other systems has become important because it can manage the back-office tasks seamlessly that includes:

•    Management of the distribution process
•    Management of the supply chain
•    The better knowledge base for services
•    Pricing configuration
•    Financial data can be improved with accuracy
•    Develop better planning of the projects
•    The working cycle of the employee can be automated
•    The critical business procedure can be standardized
•    Reduction of tasks those are redundant
•    Business needs can be assessed
•    Have better accounting and financial application system
•    Costs can be lowered for purchasing with better analysis
•    Human resources and payrolls can be managed better
•    Critical analysis of big data

As the methodology of ERP is becoming more popular, several software applications are being developed to help businesses implement ERP into other business activities. Along with integrating with CRM and business intelligence and present it as a combined single package.

Integrating ERP with Other Systems
With proper ERP integration with other systems like mentioned below a business can be run without much hassle while providing the best outcome and service to the customers. Here is a list of common ERP integration with other systems.

•    ERP Integration with CRM: One of the most common and sought-after ERP integration in the business world is with CRM (Client Relationship Manager. Often an enterprise integrates the CRM data with ERP systems like Oracle, Workbooks, salesforce, etc. This integration helps a salesperson or an enterprise can view in the customer data faster by bringing ERP data. This also allows the enterprise to share data like financials, performance management, distribution, etc. with other partnering networks faster.

•    ERP Integration with Supplier System: A proper integration of the Supplier system to ERP system enables a company to purchase raw material from a supplier by generating it in an ERP system. As soon as the supplier makes the quote it is routed back to the ERP so that further processing can be done.

•    ERP Integration with Third-party purchase order systems: For quick access to receipts, requisitions, and any other relevant information a start-to-end integration between the ERP system and Third-party purchase order system can be established. This helps in speeding up with the ordering process along with keeping a track of the order.

Additionally, there are also two facets in integrating ERP with other systems in an enterprise. They comprise On-premise ERP and Cloud ERP. Both have its benefits and drawbacks. Depending on the enterprise and how an organization envisages deploying the ERP system an enterprise can make the selection.

Despite ERP being a helpful system for businesses many often find it challenging to integrate it. At time silos and debilitating errors pose quite a challenge in integrating ERP systems with other systems of the business. Hence it is important that ERP is integrated with other systems so that it can help in optimizing and automation, which is at the core of the ERP.
